From West Campus to Bellinzona: plan a USI tandem realistically
“At USI” does not automatically mean “in the same place”. Official campus pages accessed in July 2026 identify West Campus in Lugano’s Molino Nuovo neighbourhood as the university’s main site, with a library, study areas and green spaces; East Campus is in Viganello. Two people using these Lugano sites may plan differently from a pair crossing city boundaries.
In Mendrisio, the Academy of Architecture occupies several buildings around an urban park. Bellinzona Campus hosts three research institutes affiliated with the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences. For architecture students, doctoral candidates or researchers, work location and travel days may determine whether lunchtime, evening or online sessions are realistic.
